2026 CYSA Kid Pitch SELECT TEAM TRYOUTS

12U Baseball Select Team Tryouts!!!!

This season there is a special offer to form a 12U Baseball team for those skilled baseball players that are looking for a bit more development. This will be a different team from the regular season teams. This team will play before and after our regular kid pitch season, not during (though there will be once weekly optional practices during the regular season that you can choose to attend).

Please note the following:

Players on this special team must also participate in the regular kid pitch season. This is mandatory.
There will be only 1 select team formed.
This team will play on 70ft bases (vs the 60ft bases during the regular kid pitch season)
Players must be 12 years or younger before May 1st 2026
Coaches are Michael Nelson and Arthur Sanchez
The team will play in a competitive league
Practices will be scheduled one day per week starting the week after tryouts (around wrestling and basketball schedules. Practices during the regular kid pitch season will be optional to attend.)
Games will likely be in March and maybe early April, but will stop once the regular kid pitch games begin. There will also be a tournament for this team to play in early June.
Tryouts are free to attend. But if you are offered a spot on this team and choose to accept, there will be an additional cost, separate from the regular season cost, due before the first select team practice. We still have some numbers to run, but are anticipating this cost to be somewhere between $50-100 per athlete.

If you are interested in joining this team:

· Mandatory tryouts will be held on Sunday, February 8 from 11am to 12:30pm at Field 6 (or IN THE MPR if the weather is bad).

· EACH PLAYER MUST SIGN-UP FOR TRYOUTS ONLINE AT CONCRETEYSA.COM BY JANUARY 31st. There will be no walk-ins allowed.

· If you do not attend try-outs, you will not be offered a spot on the team.

For the tryouts:

Bring cleats
Bring a baseball mitt
Bring a water bottle
Wear long sleeves (not sweatshirts)
Wear a hat
Players will be asked to catch a pop fly, field grounders, throw from 3rd base to 1st, among other drills to evaluate skills.
Spots on the team will be offered based upon physical ability to complete drills, as well as assessed attitude and coachability of the player.
